Frequently Asked Questions

Is this illegal in any way?

Absolutely not! Posting your project or completing a project is not against the law nor is it criminal.

Can I turn in the projects I receive for school

We strongly suggest that instead of turning in the projects, that students instead use the works they receive as study guides or model essays to help develop/finish their own school assignments. This allows you to successfully complete your assignments without compromising your academic integrity!”

Who are these freelancers?

People just like you! We've opened up our platform to allow anyone to be a freelancer by signing up. Ensure you hire the proper fit by taking a look at their profile, reviews, and chatting with them before hiring.

Can my freelancer scam me?

No! Once you load our escrow with your funds...your freelancer will be unable to access the money until you approve of the project.

Our escrow allows us to create trust between freelancers and clients.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes! We use a 3rd party payment gateway, as well as an SSL Certificate (Green lock on your browser tab) to protect your information from the bad people on the internet.

How do I get a refund/dispute project?

Late projects and poorly done work are refund eligible. Go into your project details and submit a dispute in order to start the process. If you need help please contact support and we can guide you through the dispute process!

I like my old freelancer, can I only hire them?

Yes! Post your project first and go to the "Find freelancers" search bar to type their name. Click their profile and invite them to the project! If you forgot your freelancers name, go to your old projects and find the project they worked on. You can find their name there.

How much will I make as a freelancer?

Currently, PaperTakers takes 20% commission on all projects. Meaning freelancers receive 80% of the project cost. Ex. A $100 project would be $80 to the freelancer...and $20 to the website.

Can a client run off with my project without paying?

Before being officially hired for a project, the client will be asked to fund the cost of the project in order to kickstart it. Once the client loads our escrow, you'll be able to safely work knowing that the funds have been received and secured. The funds will be released to you when the project has been approved by the client.

How often am I paid?

You’re paid as frequently as you want! Our escrow is completely automatic and will issue your due funds at your request.

What is expected of me?

- On time delivery of projects - Reasonable expectation of work quality - Strong communication with clients - Attention to detail/project instructions

Will I receive tax forms for income?

Not directly from us, but our payment processor STRIPE will send you tax forms at the end of every year. Which you can access on your own.

I finished a project but the client hasn't approved it. What next?

Contact the support team and we'll ensure your payment gets sent. Please wait atleast 72 hours to give the client a chance to respond with any edits or adjustments needed in the work.
